I have taught painting, drawing and color theory in Oregon, along with digital art and design classes at 4 local colleges.<\/p>\n<p>I am inspired by color and light in live settings, such as those experienced in Oregon and Washington\u2019s fantastic vistas. Most of my recent landscape paintings have been one-session \u201cplein air\u201d paintings, meaning they were painted on site at one time, taking usually about 2 \u2013 4 hours each.<\/p>\n<p>I like to paint from life because of the endless information in nature from which to pick colors, shapes, and forms.<\/p>\n<p>I also paint still life setups with lights, transparent and translucent objects and liquids, and well-worn\/well-loved objects like old boots.<\/p>\n<p>I have always painted portraits, preferably from life in one sitting. The human face, the center of consciousness, is endlessly fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>I structure my paintings on the relationship between 2D and 3D movements in a composition, and the resonance between geometry, color, space and meaning.<\/p>\n<p>I paint in oil, acrylic, encaustic, and several drawing mediums.<\/p>\n<p>I price my paintings on materials and time, and I believe in creating fine art that is affordable by most people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chris Dreger &#8211; Bio&nbsp; I have lived and painted in Oregon for over 25 years.
